Your Community, Country and Council – Aboriginal women run for election

In 2014, the Victorian Local Governance Association (VLGA), along with support from funding partners, created a short film to share stories and advice from women of Victoria’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities about the why, how and when of standing as a local government candidate.  The video features Senator Nova Peris OAM.

The film is proudly supported by the Victorian Government Office of Aboriginal Affairs, Reconciliation Victoria, Cities of Banyule, Boroondara, Greater Shepparton, Port Philip, Whittlesea and Whitehorse; City of  Latrobe and the Braiakaulung Advisory Committee; Shires of Glenelg, South Gippsland, Wellington and Yarra Ranges.
